A World Away
This painting has a special place in my heart as it is of my own child. We were away together for the weekend on a barge. It brings back fond memories of childhood and sunny days. She is simply chilling and zoning out, lost in her own thoughts oblivious to the rest of the world. I was captivated by the tilt of the head and the slant of the shoulder which for me adds to the wistfulness of the picture and expresses so much more than words could ever say.
The work is an unframed acrylic on canvas board 55 cm x 45 cm / 21.5" x 17.75".
